IPCC Special Report. Methodological and Technological Issues in Technology Transfer
World Meteorological Organization (WMO) ; United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP); Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) - IPCC, 2000Effective global response to climate change requires the development and transfer of environmentally sound technologies between and within countries, both for adapting to climate change as well as for mitigating the effects of greenhouse gas emissions. This IPCC Special Report provides a state-of-the-art overview of how to achieve and enhance this transfer. 185 eminent experts from around the world provide accurate, unbiased, policy-relevant information on technology transfer, such as capacity building, the promotion of an enabling environment, and mechanisms for technology transfer from devel ...

This IPCC volume is the most comprehensive assessment available on technology transfer, and provides invaluable information to serve industry, policy-makers, environmental organisations, and researchers in global change, technology, engineering and economics.

IPCC Special Report. Methodological and Technological Issues in Technology Transfer : summary for Policymakers
World Meteorological Organization (WMO) ; United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP); Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) - IPCC, 2000This Special Report has been prepared by IPCC Working Group III in response to a request by the Subsidiary Body for Scientific and Technological Advice (SBSTA) to the UNFCC. Innovation and enhanced efforts to transfer environmentally sound technology to limit greenhouse gas emissions and to adapt to climate change will be required to meet the objective of the Climate Convention and to reduce vulnerability to climate change impacts. The report addresses the technology transfer problem in the context of climate change while emphasizing the sustainable development perspective.

IPCC Special Report. Emissions scenarios
World Meteorological Organization (WMO) ; United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP); Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) - IPCC, 2000The SRES scenarios cover a wide range of the main driving forces of future emissions, from demographic to technological and economic developments. As required by the Terms of
Reference, none of the scenarios in the set includes any future policies that explicitly address climate change, although all scenarios necessarily encompass various policies of other types. The set of SRES emissions scenarios is based on an extensive assessment
of the literature, six alternative modeling approaches, and an “open process” that solicited wide participation and feedback from many groups and in ...

IPCC Special Report. The Regional Impacts of Climate Change: An Assessment of Vulnerability : summary for Policymakers
The Special Report explores the potential consequences of changes in climate for ten continental- or subcontinentalscale regions. Because of the uncertainties associated with
regional projections of climate change, the report necessarily takes the approach of assessing sensitivities and vulnerabilities of each region, rather than attempting to provide quantitative predictions of the impacts of climate change. As in the SAR, “vulnerability” is the extent to which climate change may damage or harm a system; it is a function of both sensitivity to climate and the ability to adapt to new co ...
