Collection(s) and Series: OSCAR Series- No. 01

Lignes directrices pour la mise en oeuvre d’un système d’alerte précoce pour la prévision des inondations côtières (OMM-N° 1293)
This publication, Guidelines on Implementation of a Coastal Inundation Forecasting - Early Warning System (CIF-EWS) is the result of a resolution of the World Meteorological Congress 18 (2019) to assist vulnerable countries to implement their own CIF-EWS. These Guidelines are based on the successful implementation of demonstration systems in four countries between 2009 and 2019 through the Coastal Inundation Forecasting Demonstration Project (CIFDP) (Swail et al., 2019). Additionally, these Guidelines can be used as a valuable planning tool for coastal zone management, in order to build resili ...

Additionally, these Guidelines can be used as a valuable planning tool for coastal zone management, in order to build resilience to inundation through reduced exposure and vulnerability of coastal communities. These Guidelines show how an effective end-to-end coastal inundation warning system: CIF-EWS, can be established in a country or region, through a straightforward 10 step process with a number of templates featuring policy, management and technical processes that countries or regions can use to build their own EWS, from vision to “go-live” implementation. These Guidelines also include a comprehensive explanation of the hazards and the range of models used for their forecasting and warning, along with appropriate reference material.

État des ressources en eau dans le monde en 2021 (OMM-N° 1308)
As a first edition of the annual State of Global Water Resources, this report shows how maps and a graphical summary of streamflow and TWS in river basins worldwide could look in regular reports on global water resources. These maps are based on modelled data (and validated with observed data to the extent possible) and remotely sensed information from the NASA GRACE mission for TWS. Modelled data was used to achieve maximum geographical coverage. The 2021 report also includes chapters on major hydrological events in 2021 and a brief overview of cryosphere changes as they related to water reso ...

Élaborer des informations climatologiques à l’appui de l’action climatique
The purpose of this publication and associated resources is to provide the international community on adaptation practices with access to new climate information, tools, and guidance to develop the scientific basis for climate action decisions, particularly for climate adaptation and resilience projects. Providing these products can help countries identify and select the most effective climate actions to overcome the various challenges of climate change. In doing so, the guidance can contribute to country-level decision-making and the mobilization of climate finance.
