Using cost−benefit analysis to inform climate change adaptation projects
This paper argues that cost–benefit analysis (CBA) helps inform decisions about projects, such as whether to proceed with a project or not, which project option to select, and what refinements can be made to improve project design – thus making them more effective. It also argues that CBA can also help to assess and incorporate the risk and uncertainty of climate variability and climate change into project decision making. The most effective, it says that CBA should be included as a key component of the project cycle right from the beginning, involving multidisciplinary teams, and support from ...

Mainstreaming climate change adaptation in the Pacific: a practical guide
SPREP, 2013The Pacific Adaptation to Climate Change (PACC) project has put together this guide as a response to the need from PACC-participating countries to integrate climate change risks into their national and sector strategies and plans, and budgetary processes. Strategies and on the ground options for climate change adaptation and disaster risk management in the Pacific
This report addresses the challenge to reach a consensus on the contours of an agenda that adequately identifies the development needs of present and future generations, and is capable of crystallizing these priorities in clear sustainable development goals that will help guide coherent policy action at the global, regional and national levels. Issues addressed: (i) growing environmental footprints; (ii) governance and accountability deficits; (iii) transformative change towards inclusive, people-centered sustainable development; (iv) environmental sustainability; and (v) inclusive economic de ...Strategies and on the ground options for climate change adaptation and disaster risk management in the Pacific

Pacific Climate Change Portal
The Pacific Climate Change Portal was developed by the Secretariat of the Pacific Regional Environment Programme, in collaboration with its partners.
Regional and national institutions in the Pacific Island region hold a substantial amount of climate change‐related information and tools. The Pacific Climate Change Portal aims to ensure this information is readily accessible in a coordinated and user-friendly manner.
The portal provides a platform for institutions and governments in the Pacific region to share information that can be readily accessed by linking to ...Permalink
