Published by: WMO ; 2000The eighth session of the TAO Implementation Panel (TIP-8) was held at the Hotel Maeva Latitudes in St Raphael, France, on 15 October 1999. The meeting was convened with the assistance of the local organizing committee for the OCEANOBS99 conference, which was held the following week in St Raphael. The purposes of TIP-8 were to review the present status of the TAO array; to address technical and logistic issues related to its maintenance; and to provide a forum for discussion of enhancements and expansions of the array for climate studies.
