Les îles de la COI (Union des Comores, Madagascar, Maurice, France/Réunion, Seychelles) sont en première ligne face au changement climatique. Alors qu’elles contribuent de manière négligeable aux émissions de gaz à effet de serre, elles risquent de subir des dégâts énormes et potentiellement irréversibles au niveau de l’environnement, de l’économie et de la société.

Consciente de cette réalité, la Commission de l’Océan Indien a lancé en 2008 un projet régional d’adaptation au changement climatique, intitulé Acclimate. Climate Policy Tracker for the European Union
The climate policy tracker is a comprehensive review of policies of EU member states that affect greenhouse gas emissions. It provides an overview of the policy situation of each member state broken down by sector and policy area. In addition, it provides a rating to measure the impact of these climate policies, via 83 indicators.
