Le présent document est axé essentiellement sur le CO2, car, à ce jour et selon les projections, c’est celui des gaz à effet de serre qui a l’effet le plus prononcé sur le forçage radiatif (1,56 W m-2 pour le CO2 contre 0,47 W m-2 pour le CH4, 0,14 W m-2 pour le N2O et 0,27 W m-2 pour les hydrocarbures halogénés en 1990).
