L’Observatoire de Hong Kong – Servir grâce à la science
Le 23 mars, à l’occasion de la Journée météorologique mondiale, l’Observatoire de Hong Kong a célébré son cent trentième anniversaire au sein de ses quatre branches et de ses 318 employés. Il avait reçu pour mission, lors de sa création en 1883, de servir le transport maritime, secteur crucial pour le commerce et le développement économique de Hong Kong1(Chine2) qui était en train de devenir un grand port commercial. L’Observatoire a toujours cherché à innover afin de s’acquitter de cette mission, mesurant l’importance des connaissances scientifiques et techniques pour la prestation de services météorologiques3. C’est encore le cas aujourd’hui: l’Observatoire s’efforce de servir une communauté toujours plus large d’utilisateurs par l’innovation et les partenariats scientifiques, avec l’appui de la Veille météorologique mondiale (VMM).

Summary of Meteorological and Tidal Observations in Hong Kong
Hong Kong Observatory, 1999-[...]Detailed climatological information is contained in annual volumes of the "Summary of Meteorological and Tidal Observations in Hong Kong". The Summary contains condensed information of surface and upper-air data recorded in Hong Kong. Starting 2007, summaries of observed sea levels at various tide gauge stations operated by the Hong Kong Observatory and the number of lightning strokes detected over the Hong Kong territory by the Lightning Location Network are also included.
