La Guia de practicas hidrologicas tiene por objeto aportar informacion sobre las practicas, procedimientos e instrumentos actualmente utilizados a quienes se dedican a la hidrologia.
Esperamos que la presente Guia sea util no solo a los SHN de los Miembros de la OMM, sino tambien a otras partes interesadas y organismos que participan en la gestion de los recursos hidricos y, en particular, en el seguimiento y evaluaction de tales recursos.

Le Guide des pratiques hydrologiques a pour but de fournir a tous ceux qui travaillent dans le domaine de l’hydrologie, les informations pertinentes sur les pratiques, procédures et instruments actuels, leur permettant ainsi d’effectuer leur travail avec plus de succès. On espère que le présent ouvrage soit utile non seulement aux Services nationaux des Membres mais aussi aux divers autres intervenants et organismes impliqués dans la gestion des ressources en eau en général, et en particulier dans le suivi et l’estimation de ces ressources.
Manual on estimation of Probable Maximum Precipitation (PMP)
The manual describes procedure for estimating the maximum probable precipitation and the maximum probable flood. This is the third revised version.
The first and second editions of this manual were published in 1973 and 1986, respectively. The current edition keeps a majority of the content from the second edition. Newly added content in this third edition primarily results from experiences, since 1986, in directly estimating PMP for the requirements of a given project in a design watershed on probable maximum flood (PMF) in China, the United States of America, Australia and India.
