Operational hydrology report (OHR), 45. Contaminants in rivers and streams: prediction of travel time and longitudinal dispersion
This publication discusses the theory of movement and dispersion of dissolved pollutants and introduces the unit-peak concentration concept. A summary of the methods used to collect time-of-travel information is given, along with a summary of the data used in the report. Methods are recommended for estimating the rate of movement and attenuation of conservative pollutants based on an analysis of the data.

Meteorology and Hydrology for Sustainable Development
This booklet highlights urgent issues of pollution, natural disasters and environmental emergencies. Mr Bruce presents a perspective which emphasizes that the health of the planet is dependent on equitable and sustainable development which in turn involves the search for adequate solutions ranging from sound environmental economics to a judicious use of resources, such as agriculture, water, oceans, forests and energy.

GESAMP - Reports and Studies, 48. Global Changes and the Air-Sea Exchange of Chemicals
World Meteorological Organization (WMO) ; Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO); United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO); et al. - WMO, 1991Global environmental change is one of the most important issues facing society over the next several decades. Present and potential future changes to the global environment have important implications for marine pollution and for the air-sea exchange of both anthropogenic and natural substances. This report addresses three issues related to the potential impact of global change on the air-sea exchange of chemicals…
