The Economics of Climate Change in Southeast Asia: A Regional Review
ADB, 2009This report, published by the Asian Development Bank, examines the economics of climate change in Southeast Asia. The report focuses on Indonesia, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand and Viet Nam in particular. It is found that the region is particularly vulnerable to the impacts of climate change due to its heavily populated coastal areas and its reliance on agriculture. Therefore, Southeast Asia will be required to undertake a relatively high proportion of adaptation measures. It is also argued that the region has a great deal of potential in terms of climate change mitigation and the regio ...

This report, published by the Asian Development Bank, examines the economics of climate change in Southeast Asia. It is also argued that the region has a great deal of potential in terms of climate change mitigation and the region should aim to play an important role in a global solution to the climate change crisis. The report concludes by offering a series of policy recommendations relating to: mitigation; adaptation; funding, technology transfer, and international/region cooperation; government policy co-ordination and undertaking more research on climate-related issues.

Rapid Assessment of the Extent and Impact of Sea Level Rise in Viet Nam
This report, published by the International Centre for Environmental Management in 2007, outlines an impact and vulnerability assessment of the extent of anticipated sea level rise (SLR) in Viet Nam. It can be used to inform policymakers and donors operating within the country. The study provides geospatial analysis that offers insights into the most susceptible locations and most important issues relating to SLR in Viet Nam. It is also careful to outline the limitations that SLR assessments struggle to overcome. In addition, the report proposes fields for further development in order to achie ...
