Global Data-processing and Forecasting System (GDPFS)
The main purpose of the Global Data-processing and Forecasting Systems (GDPFS) shall be to prepare and make available to Members in the most cost-effective way meteorological analyses and forecast products. The design, functions, organizational structure and operations of the GDPFS shall be in accordance with Members' needs and their ability to contribute to and benefit from the system.

TIGGE LAM
TIGGE-LAM currently groups five European ensemble systems in a standard data format, and five more will be added in the near future [see table].
TIGGE-LAM is an extension of the THORPEX Interactive Grand Global Ensemble (TIGGE) archive to include weather forecasts from limited area model (LAM) ensembles. These forecasts are produced on grids between 10 and 2 km resolution and provide detailed information for the short range, up to a few days ahead. This complements the larger-scale information provided by the global data in the established TIGGE archive.

World Weather Information Service: Official Forecasts
his global web site presents OFFICIAL weather observations, weather forecasts and climatological information for selected cities supplied by National Meteorological & Hydrological Services (NMHSs) worldwide. The NMHSs make official weather observations in their respective countries. Links to their official weather service web sites and tourism board/organization are also provided whenever available. Weather icons are shown alongside worded forecasts in this version to facilitate visual inspection.

WMO Technical Progress Report on the Global Data-Processing and Forecasting System (GDPFS) and Numerical Weather Prediction (NWP) Research
Following a recommendation of some members, as a measure to avoid duplication of efforts, it was agreed to combine two important reports - the Annual WWW Tecnical Progress Report on the Global Data-Processing and Forecasting System (GDPFS) and the Annual Numerical Weather Prediction (NWP) Progress Report - into one, starting with the report for the year 2005.
This new combined annual publication will serve as a means of updating the rapidly evolving facilities, research and services being implemented at GDPFS/NWP Centres as requirements and technology advance.

Global Observing System (GOS)
Global Observing System (GOS): The coordinated system of methods and facilities for making meteorological and other environmental observations on a global scale in support of all WMO Programmes; the system is comprised of operationally reliable surface-based and space-based subsystems. The GOS comprises observing facilities on land, at sea, in the air and in outer space. These facilities are owned and operated by the Member countries of WMO each of which undertakes to meet certain responsibilities in the agreed global scheme so that all countries can benefit from the consolidated efforts.
