Glacier status in Nepal and decadal change from 1980 to 2010 based on landsat data

It presents a comprehensive account of the status of glaciers of Nepal in approximately 1980, 1990, 2000, and 2010 based on a semi-automatic standardized analysis of satellite images with post-processing database management in ArcGIS.

Application of remote sensing and GIS for flood hazard management: a case study from Sindh Province, Pakistan: In American Journal of Geographic Information System, 2013 2(1)
This study assesses the flood vulnerability of Pakistan's Sindh Province using Remote Sensing (RS) and Geographical Information Systems (GIS). The study is organized into five sections: (i) the first section introduces the region and the natural hazards present; (ii) section two defines the study's objectives and explains the methodology; (iii) section three presents the findings; (iv) and section four concludes the paper by asserting the utility of mapping in flood risk assessments.

Resource manual on flash flood risk management - module 3: structural measures
This publication presents the concept of integrated flood management as a component of integrated water resource management. It emphasizes that structural measures are most effective and sustainable when implemented together with appropriate non-structural measures keeping in mind physical measures for slope stabilization and erosion control. The description are simple yet effective, they can be implemented using local and low-cost materials with a minimum of external materials and technical support and a low environmental impact.
