Commission for Basic Systems and Commission for Instruments and Methods of Observation : Workshop on Use of Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAV) for Operational Meteorology
The workshop presentations included research organizations and NMHS experts discussing the challenges and successes experienced using UAVs in field campaigns collecting data in support of environmental and meteorological applications. It outlines the next steps required for the implementation of a GSRN: approval of the proposed GSRN by relevant WMO programmes, the GCOS programme and other sponsors, solicitation of offers to host and staff appropriately the proposed Lead Centre, and the selection of suitable sites for an initial GSRN.
